## Import Token It is a common question that users don't see their tokens. This usually happens when you first onboard a chain, or after you have bridged a token, or a new token is just released. You have to manually import the token using its contract address. The following example shows how to import [ICE token](/intro/ice) using its contract address on the Bitgert chain. The procedure is straightforward and should be similar for other tokens and chains. [Switch to the Bitgert network](#switch-network) and click "**Import tokens**" at the bottom, then paste the contract address of ICE token `0xB999Ea90607a826A3E6E6646B404c3C7d11fa39D` (for the Bitgert chain) into the "**Token contract address**" field. Other fields should be populated automatically. Click the button "**Add custom token**" and proceed with instructions.

Choose a wallet to connect (Fig. 1b). Once a network is connected, you are able to buy or sell by swapping tokens (Figure 1c).

Select the **input** token and **output** token from the drop-down menu such as BRISE and ICE in the following example (Fig. 2). Fill in the amount of input token, the amount of output token should be filled automatically based on market price. Note that this preview amount is before-tax. The actual amount you received will be smaller if your input and/or output token have sell/buy tax. Click "**Swap**", then "**Confirm Swap**", and follow the onscreen instruction to complete the transaction in your wallet.

The Swap interface has some nice little features. You can show/hide the price chart (Fig. 3a), copy a token's contract address or add it directly to your wallet (Fig. 3b).

## Slippage Slippage is the difference between the expected price of an order and the price when the order actually executes. Learn more via [this article](https://www.binance.com/en/support/faq/what-is-slippage-01f6dd67d54e4dca902914700818e739). The default slippage 0.5% works in most time. But if your tokens have buy/sell tax, you need to set slippage above that.

The following examples demonstrate how to manage liquidity on the Bitgert network using [MetaMask](/get-started/setup-wallet/metamask). The interfaces and steps should be very similar if you are connected to a different chain such as Dogechain or using a different wallet. ## Liquidity Pool (LP) Tokens They are also known as liquidity provider tokens, which are given to users who provide a pair of two tokens to the liquidity pool. These tokens act as a receipt, allowing you to claim your original tokens and interest earned. If you stake your LP tokens on [our farm](https://icecreamswap.com/farms), you also earn ICE tokens as rewards with high yield. Check the [Farm page](/dex/farm) for more information. ## Add Liquidity Click the "**Add Liquidity**" button (Fig. 2a). Choose the two tokens from the dropdown menu. If the pair exists, it will allow you to enter amount (Fig. 2b). Otherwise, you will [create a new pair](#create-a-pair) in the pool (see section below). You can set the amount by entering a number or using the preset percentage for one token. The amount for the other token will be auto filled to maintain a 1:1 ratio of balanced liquidity (Fig. 2c). Make sure you have sufficient balance for both tokens and click the "**Supply**" button. Useful information such as token price and your share in the pool are displayed in a popup (Fig. 2d). Click the "**Confirm Supply**" button and then follow the onscreen instruction to complete the transaction in your wallet. After you have provided liquidity to the pool, you get the liquidity pool (LP) token representing your share in the pool (Fig. 2e). Usually, you don't have to interact with such LP tokens directly. But you can add them to your wallet if you want.

Your LP tokens now start earning trading fees for you continuously. You can also stake your LP tokens on [our farm](https://icecreamswap.com/farms) and earn [ICE token](/intro/ice) as rewards. Check the [Farm page](/dex/farm) for details. When your stake all your LP tokens will be removed from the list of liquidity pool, but they are not. The counts of tokens in a pair might change compared to their original numbers. Say you have initially provided 10,000 BRISE and 10 ICE, and later see 25,000 BRISE and 5 ICE. This is completely normal as you are earning trading fees, which are paid in kind and compounded automatically. Those numbers also change as users start trading on the pair. ## Create A Pair {% hint style="info" %} If your token is not listed in the dropdown menu, use the search box to import it using its name or contract address. {% endhint %} In certain cases, especially for a new token, there is a need to create a new pair of your own (Fig. 3a). If the pair has already been created by the community, follow the above [Add Liquidity](#add-liquidity) instruction. When necessary, click the "**Enable**" button to enable both tokens (Fig. 3b). Enter amounts for both tokens and click "**Supply**" (Fig. 3c). As the first liquidity provider, the ratio of tokens you add will set the price of pool. Try to keep the liquidity (price :heavy\_multiplication\_x: amount) balanced on both ends as much as possible. If necessary, check your token prices on other platforms. Fill in the amounts for both "**Input**" tokens and click "**Supply**" (Fig. 3b). Follow the similar steps mentioned above in the "**Add Liquidity**" section to proceed. Congratulations!:tada: You have created a new pair with a 100% share of the pool (Fig. 3d).

## Manage Liquidity You can manage your own liquidity with no deposit or withdrawal fee. But be cautious if your tokens have buy/sell tax. There is no lock time either. You can "**Add Liquidity**" to or "**Remove**" liquidity from a pool (Fig. 4a). The "**Add Liquidity**" button brings up the exact same interface as seen in the above [Add Liquidity](#add-liquidity) section. To "**Remove**" liquidity from the pool, you first you have to click the "**Enable**" button (Fig. 4b). Once enabled, you can remove a certain percentage or all of your liquidity from the pool (Fig. 4c). Click the "**Remove**" button and follow onscreen instruction to complete the transactions.

## Impermanent Loss By being a liquidity provider, there is a risk of [impermanent loss](https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/impermanent-loss-explained) when token price changes dramatically. Note that this is a long-term investment. Do you know that you earn 5/6 of the trading fees on the token pair? As we grow, this alone can quickly negate any loss. Once a contract for the LP token is enabled (Fig. 2a), you are able to stake it by click the "**Stake LP**" button. Enter an amount or use the preset percentage you wish to stake and click the "**Confirm**" button (Fig. 2b). Follow onscreen instruction to complete the transaction in your wallet. Now your LP tokens are staked (Fig. 2c). Enjoy!:tada: Your staked LP tokens are continuously earning you ICE tokens as rewards as well as trading fees every second. You can harvest farming yields any time by click the "**Harvest**" button.

Farming yields are harvested directly to your wallet in the form of [ICE](/intro/ice) token. It is wise to reinvest them back to receive even more rewards next time. If you encounter a stuck transaction, DM our admin to recover it. {% endhint %} The following example demonstrates how to bridge [ICE](/intro/ice) tokens from the [XDC](https://xinfin.org/) chain to the [Bitgert](https://bitgert.com/) chain using [MetaMask](/get-started/setup-wallet/metamask) wallet. You can also go the reverse direction. The steps should look similar for other supported tokens, chains, and wallets. **Source Chain**\ This is where you are going to send tokens. It is prefilled with the network that your wallet is currently connected to (*e.g.*, XDC). You can choose any supported chain from the list, and you will be prompted to switch to it in your wallet. Your tokens are no longer on the home chain once the transfer succeeds. **Destination Chain**\ This is the other end of the bridge, *i.e.*, where you are going to receive tokens (*e.g.*, Bitgert). Don't forget to switch to the target chain in your wallet and check your bridged tokens there after the transfer. **Select a currency**\ This allows you to select a token from dropdown menu (*e.g.*, ICE). Choose or input an amount to bridge. There is no minimum or maximum amount that you can send. Click the "**Bridge Now**" button to start a transfer. If this is the first time for a given token, you will be asked to "**Approve**" the contract. Once it is approved, click the "**Confirm**" button and follow onscreen instructions to complete the transaction in your wallet. Your tokens will be available on the "**Destination Chain**" in a few minutes.

## *i*-Tokens When you bridge tokens from other chains to the **Bitgert** network using our bridge, you get the ***i*****-Tokens** that are operational on our DEX. For example, when you bridge USDT from Binance Smart Chain (BSC) to Bitgert chain, you get **USDTi**. It is the IceCreamSwap (hence the '***i***' suffix) flavored USDT on the Bitgert network, which is 1:1 pegged to USDT on the BSC chain. # Lock Increase trust by locking your tokens {% hint style="info" %} Project owners can lock their tokens to build trust with community. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} Users can claim their vested tokens via the locks created for them by an IDO. {% endhint %} [IceCream Lock (https://icecreamswap.com/locks)](https://icecreamswap.com/locks) allows you to lock your tokens for a fixed period. ## Create Lock Before you creating any lock, please understand this feature is mainly for project owners. Regular users have no real benefit by locking their tokens. Project owners can build trust with community as users are sure that you have locked your tokens for a fixed period of time. Given the lock ID, users can verify a project's locked tokens anytime. There is no limit on the number of locks that one can create. Please follow the steps below to create a lock. Note that you have two options either without vesting (Step 4a) or with vesting (Step 4b). You create a regular lock by setting a unlock date. When it's time, you claim your tokens all at once. On the hand, with vesting you set a starting date and a ending date. By using vesting, you can claim tokens, which are release linearly. All locks, either created by yourself or those created on your behalf by an IDO project, can be viewed under the "My Locks" section.

Providing liquidity to a pool, *a.k.a* farming or mining, is a long-term investment. Do you know that you earn 5/6 of the trading fees? As we grow, that alone can quickly negate any loss, not mentioning that you get ICE rewards if you stake your liquidity on [our farm](https://icecreamswap.com/farms). ### **Why the counts in LP tokens change from time to time?** This is completely normal as you are earning trading fees, which are paid in kind and compounded automatically. Those numbers also change as users start trading on the pair. ### Why do I get less tokens after swapping or adding/removing liquidity to/from a pool? It is likely that your tokens have buy/sell tax. The preview amount is before-tax, mainly because it is not possible to know the transfer tax beforehand. You buy/sell your token by swapping. It is also a "sell" when adding liquidity to a pool because you trade your two tokens for the liquidity pool (LP) tokens. The same applies when removing liquidity. The after-tax amount is thus smaller. ### What is the difference among Bitgert, BRISE, BRC, and BRC20 network? They are being used interchangeably. Technically, [Bitgert](https://bitgert.com/) is a blockchain. BRISE is the native token of the Bitgert chain. BRC or BRC20 is the token standard of the Bitgert chain. ### Where can I buy BRISE token? There are two kinds: BRISE on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and native BRISE on the Bitgert chain (BRC). It is highly recommended to buy the BRC BRISE as it has no buy/sell tax. If you have BSC tokens such as USDT and BNB, first [bridge](/dex/bridge) them to the Bitgert chain using [our bridge](https://icecreamswap.com/bridge). The fixed fee is usually $1 but may be adjusted per chain. We use this fee to support one nice feature of our bridge: gas dropper. When user bridges from the source chain (e.g., Binance Smart Chain) to the destination change (e.g., Qitmeer), if he/she has no native token on the destination, our bridge will automatically drop some native tokens (e.g., MEER). This is particularly helpful and friendly to new users. The 0.5% fee is used to cover the gas fees on the destination network (*i.e.*, where you receive tokens). ## 滑点 滑点是指下单时，交易点位与实际交易点位有价格差别的一种交易现象。默认的0.5%滑点适用于绝大多数情况，无需改变。但是如果您的代币有买卖税，则需要设定比买卖税更高的滑点以确保交易成功。
